Reviewing posts

Updated

Once you approve a campaign's plan, we write each post for you. You check it, add photos where it needs them, and approve it. Nothing goes out until you do.

When posts are written

We start writing a campaign's posts as soon as you approve the plan, however far off the campaign is. A whole campaign, pictures included, usually takes about 15 minutes. You can leave the page while we work. Open the campaign's Posts to watch them arrive, grouped by week.

If a post doesn't work the first time, we try again on our own, so there's nothing for you to do. If it still doesn't work, the post says so and you can choose Try writing it again.

What a post has

  • The words for each place it goes: a caption, a video description, or a full article or newsletter, plus any titles or tags that place needs. Each place says what its words are called there (Caption, Description, Post text) and where to paste them, and the words have a Copy button. Titles and tags that have their own box on the platform are shown separately, with where they go.
  • For picture and video posts, its parts in order: the pictures of a carousel, the shots of a video, or the sections of a long video. Swipe through a carousel's slides or a video's shots, or use the arrows under them. Each part says what it should show and the words on it, and for a video what's said.

Each part is marked Your photo, Your photo or clip or Your footage (it needs your business itself), or Any photo, Any photo or clip or Any footage (anything suitable will do). A short video's shots take a photo or a clip; only a long YouTube video is filmed. See Photos for your posts.

Editing

Each picture, slide or shot has its own Edit button. It opens just that part in a panel from the bottom of the screen, with everything for it: what it shows, the words on it, for a video what's said, its photo or clip, and its AI prompt. Use the arrows at the top of the panel to move to the part before or after. If you've changed the words without saving, we'll ask before throwing them away. A part with no words yet says "none yet", and you can add some there. To change the overall style, choose Edit look and feel. For the words of a place the post goes, titles and tags, choose Edit on that place. We keep your edits exactly as you wrote them.

If you change a shot's words or what's said after the finished video is made, make the video again so it matches.

The number of pictures or shots stays the same, so the post still fits where it's going.

You can still edit a post after approving it, and it stays approved. Places it hasn't gone out to yet get your edited version.

Approving

When a post looks right, choose Approve this post. Just above the button, we tell you when it will publish itself and where, and which places you'll post yourself.

Once it's approved, Next post takes you straight to the next one waiting for you, so you can go through a week without going back to the list. When there's nothing left, we'll say so.

Your home page helps too. This week shows the running campaign's posts for the next 7 days, each with where it stands, like Needs your yes or Posted. While some of them are waiting for you, its next step is Approve this week's posts, with how many are done. Review next post opens the first one waiting for you.

Each week's posts are due for approval 3 days before that week starts. On the Posts screen, each week shows Approve by and the date. If a week is late, your daily reminder email lists it.

A week that was already too close when you approved the plan, like the first week of a campaign starting the next day, has no deadline. Just approve each post before its day. Your home and your daily reminder tell you when posts for the next 2 days still need approving.

A post still waiting for photos can be approved. It won't go out until it has them. If a post that publishes itself is still missing photos at its time, we switch it to posting by hand.

Missed posts

If a post's day passes before you approve it, it's marked Missed. Your home and your daily reminder list missed posts until you deal with them, and nothing happens to them on its own. Open one and choose:

  • Post it anyway: approves it, and you post it yourself, since its time has gone.
  • Skip this post: it won't be posted anywhere, and we stop reminding you about it.

Once the campaign ends, its missed posts drop off your home and your reminder.

Changing your mind

Changed your mind? Choose Unapprove. Nothing more of the post goes out until you approve it again. Anything already posted stays posted.

Writing a new version

Not happy with a post? Choose Write a new version and we'll write it again from the start. You can do this 3 times per post, and the button shows how many you have left.

A new version:

  • replaces your edits;
  • takes the photos and clips off the post (they stay in your library);
  • deletes its finished video, its voice recording, and any animation still waiting for you to keep or discard;
  • needs approving again.

You can't ask for a new version while a picture or video is still being made for the post. Once a post has gone out anywhere, it can't be rewritten, but you can still edit it.

Posting it

Approved posts publish themselves to the accounts you've connected. Once a post is approved, each place shows a Best time to post, in your time zone. You can change it.

For places you post yourself, use the post's words and its finished pictures or video. Then choose I've posted this and add the link, or Skip for a place you won't use. See Automatic or by hand.

Once everywhere is done, the post is marked Posted (or Skipped) in the list of posts and on the post itself. A place that didn't go out on its own is marked Didn't go out until you post it yourself or skip it.
