Short videos
Updated
We make the finished video for Reels, TikToks and Shorts right in the app, so you don't need an editing app. You fill its shots and choose a voice, and we put it together, up to 60 seconds long.
Filling the shots
A short video post is a list of shots. Each one takes a photo or a short clip, so you don't need to film anything: photos move with a slow zoom. Under What it shows, each shot says what it shows, any words on screen, and what's said. Some shots are marked Your photo or clip and need your business's own. Others are marked Any photo or clip, and anything suitable will do.
We fill the shots we can when we write the post, from your library or with AI pictures, and you can change any of them. For a shot that's still empty, choose Edit, then Add a clip or photo. Then:
- For a clip: film it on your phone, or pick one from your library. Clips can be up to 3 minutes long. A new clip takes a minute or two to get ready, and you can leave the page meanwhile. Drag the slider to choose where in the clip the shot starts.
- For a photo: during the shot, the picture moves slowly toward its most important spot. Tap the photo on what the shot should move toward. You can also bring the photo to life with AI. One or two animated shots per video is plenty. See AI motion.
Choosing a voice
Under Voice, choose one of these:
- AI voice: an AI voice reads each shot's line. Play the samples to hear each one.
- My own voice (record it here): choose Start recording and read your lines, which are shown on screen. You get one take of up to 90 seconds, on your phone or computer. Listen back, then choose Use this take, or Record again.
- No voice - just the clips' own sound.
The voice reads each shot's What's said. If there's nothing to read, or none of your clips has sound, we'll tell you before you make the video, so you don't end up with a silent one by accident.
Your first video starts with the AI voice Shimmer. We remember your choice for your next videos.
If you use an AI voice, let viewers know, for example with a line in the caption. Our terms ask you to, and the AI label we turn on doesn't cover voices.
With a voice, the video shows captions of what's said. If you don't want them, turn off Show captions of what's said.
Making the video
Once every shot has a clip or photo, and your recording if you're using your own voice, choose Make the video. It takes a minute or two, and you can leave the page while we work on it.
When it's done, you can watch it. Then, for each place it goes, choose Download, or Share on a phone to send it straight to another app. We don't add music, so you can add some in the app when you post.
If you change the post afterwards (a shot, a line, or the voice), we let you know the video is out of date. Choose Make the video again to include your changes.
Already made your own video?
Choose Already edited your video yourself? Use it instead, then pick it or upload it. It can be up to 60 seconds long.
- If it's already the right shape, we post it as it is.
- If it isn't, choose Crop my video to shape and we crop it around its centre.
To go back to making the video from the shots, choose Go back to the shots.
