How campaigns work
Updated
A campaign is four weeks of posts for one group of customers, working toward one of your goals. We write everything, and nothing goes out without your say-so.
The steps
- Idea. We suggest campaign ideas from your business info. You choose one, and it starts when you approve its plan (or on a date you pick). See Campaign ideas.
- Topics. We suggest topics: the subjects the campaign's posts will cover. You pick at least 6 and put them in order. See Topics.
- Plan. We lay out the posts day by day, 3 to 5 a week, with what each one covers and where it goes. You change what you like and approve it. See Your plan.
- Posts. We write each post: the words for each place it goes, and what its pictures or video should show. You add your photos, check each post and approve it. See Reviewing posts.
- Publishing. Approved posts publish themselves to the accounts you've connected, at a good time of day. The rest you post yourself, and we'll remind you. See Automatic or by hand.
Not sure what's next? Tap Home in the menu. It always shows the next thing to do, and anything that needs you today.
Every campaign lives under Campaigns in the menu: the one running now, the next one, and past ones with how they did.
When a campaign starts
Usually, a campaign starts the day after you approve its plan. Take as long as you like with its topics and plan: nothing is waiting on a date. When you approve, every post moves so the campaign starts the next day, and we'll tell you the date first.
You can have one campaign running and the next one lined up. If a campaign is still running when you approve the next one's plan, the next one starts as soon as the current one ends, so they run back to back.
Choosing a date instead
For an event or a season, you can choose a start date instead, as soon as tomorrow or up to 8 weeks later. You choose when you pick the idea. You can also open the campaign and tap Change next to when it starts. Either way works any time before its plan is approved, and any planned posts move with it.
When a chosen date arrives before the plan is approved
No problem: the campaign just waits, marked Overdue, and nothing has been written yet. (This only happens with a date you chose.) When you approve the plan, we'll ask how you'd like to run it:
- Keep the dates. Posts on days that have passed are dropped, and the rest go ahead.
- Pick a new start date. Every post moves with it.
Cancelling a campaign
You can cancel a campaign until its plan is approved. Open it and choose Cancel this campaign. Its topics and plan go with it, and the idea won't come back to your list. Topics you saved for later stay saved.
Once the plan is approved, the campaign runs to the end. A post still only goes out once you approve it.
