Deleting a business or your account

Updated

We're sorry to see you go. Here's how deleting works, and how to change your mind.

Deleting a business

Only the Primary Owner can delete a business.

  1. Open Settings from the menu and choose Delete this business, at the bottom. If you haven't signed in just now, you'll be asked to sign in again first.
  2. Type the business's name to confirm.
  3. Choose Delete in 7 days.

The business is deleted 7 days later. Until then:

  • It's read-only. Everyone can still see everything and download its pictures, videos and photos, so save what you want to keep. The banner at the top links to Campaigns, where your posts are.
  • You can still mark posts as posted or skipped and tidy your photos. Buttons for anything else are hidden until it's reinstated.
  • Posts don't publish themselves; they're handed over to you to post by hand.
  • Billing stops renewing, so nothing more is charged. There's no refund for the current period.
  • We'll email every member with the date.

Changing your mind

The Primary Owner can choose Reinstate in the banner at the top of the business any time before the date. Everything goes back to how it was, and posts whose time is still ahead publish themselves again.

On the date

Everything in the business is deleted for good: its info, campaigns, posts, photos, videos and numbers. Its connected accounts are disconnected, and any media credits it had left are lost. Posts already published stay on the platforms. This can't be undone.

Deleting your account

Open Account from the menu and choose Delete my account. If you haven't signed in just now, you'll be asked to sign in again first.

  • If you're not the Primary Owner of any business, your account is deleted straight away, and you leave every business you belong to.
  • If you're the Primary Owner of a business, first make someone else its Primary Owner on its Team screen, or delete the business from its Settings. The Account screen lists which ones, with a link to each.
  • If every business you're Primary Owner of is being deleted, your account is deleted with the last of them.

Changed your mind? Until then, choose Keep my account on the Account screen. Reinstating one of your businesses keeps your account too.

What IndieAM keeps

We keep as little as we can. A few records stay after deletion, without your posts or business info in them:

  • what was spent on AI and media credits;
  • which channel each post went to, and whether it went out;
  • refunds made when someone cancelled instead of agreeing to changed terms;
  • IndieAM's record of its admins' actions;
  • a record that the deletion happened;
  • invoices, at our payment provider.

Help requests you sent are kept with your message, email address and business name. If you used a free trial, we keep a one-way fingerprint of your email address, so the trial isn't offered again. See the privacy notice.
