Signing in

Updated

There's no password to remember. You sign in with your Google account, or with a code we email you. Whichever you choose, your account is tied to your email address.

With Google

Choose Continue with Google on the sign-in screen. IndieAM asks Google only for your name, email address and photo, and never for anything else in your Google account.

If you've signed in with an emailed code before, signing in with Google using the same email address takes you to the same account, with the same businesses. And if you started with Google, you can always sign in with an emailed code too.

With an emailed code

  1. Open IndieAM and enter your email address. Below it there's a small security check that makes sure a person is signing in. Usually it finishes by itself in a second or two; now and then it asks you to tick a box.
  2. We'll email you a 6-digit code from login@indieam.com. The code is in the email's subject too, so the notification on your phone is often all you need.
  3. Back on the sign-in screen, enter the code. Your phone may offer to fill it in for you.

Each code works once and lasts 10 minutes. If it has expired, or you've mistyped it a few times, just ask for a new one on the same screen.

The code didn't arrive

  • If the security check below your email address doesn't finish, turn off any ad or tracker blocker for IndieAM and reload the page, or use Continue with Google instead. Google sign-in doesn't need the check.
  • Check your spam or junk folder for an email from login@indieam.com. In Gmail, check the Promotions and Updates tabs too.
  • Make sure the email address you typed on the sign-in screen is right.
  • Wait a minute and ask for a new code. If you've asked several times in a short while, you'll need to wait a few minutes before you can ask again.
  • If the sign-in screen says we've already sent several codes to your address, they're on their way or already in your inbox: the newest one works. We hold back more codes for a little while so nobody can fill your inbox with them. Try again in a few minutes, or use Continue with Google instead.

Agreeing to the terms

The first time you sign in, we'll ask you to agree to our terms of service. See Agreeing to the terms.

Staying signed in and signing out

You stay signed in on a device as long as you keep using IndieAM. If you don't use it for 30 days, you'll be asked to sign in again.

To sign out, open the menu and choose Sign out. That signs you out on that device only.

Changing your email address

Your account is tied to your email address, so you can't change it in the app yourself. Send us a request through Get help and we'll sort it out with you.
